These are some of my recent executive portraits. They have been commissioned for a variety of different uses, from press release portraits, social media avatars, CV profile photos and executive portraits for annual reports. There is a trend in corporate portrait photography to have informal executive portraits for use in different media, but the more formal style is still required when you have executive portraits looking to camera, and making eye contact with the viewer.

This was an interesting commission for the Hampshire law firm Graeme Quar & Co. I had stumbled on their website and thought the style of photography they had previously commissioned was very similar to my work. A couple of weeks later I found Graeme on Twitter and exchanged a few tweets, which eventually led to him asking me to help out with some new corporate portraits for their website revamp.
Graeme was a great subject to photograph as he gave me the freedom to shoot creatively and was open to suggestions throughout the commission. As a corporate photographer I tend to like to photograph people in a natural way and let office life continue with me observing and capturing moments as they happen. Professor Neil Marriott head of the University if Winchester Business School had asked David Cradduck to help them project a more corporate feel to the Universities marketing material. I was commissioned to tour the university and capture photographs that reflected the business element whilst still retaining the feel of education.
As a commercial photographer based in Hampshire it is good to get a local commission but this was also an interesting brief.
This was quite a tricky commission as I was having avoid slipping into the trap of photographing the typical education style photographs and having to focus on creating corporate and business imagery.
There were plenty of students in the University enjoying the Hampshire sunshine, and this was a problem for me as taking photographs of the students sitting around enjoying themselves did not project the right image, as more commercial photographs need to look more studious and professional. This was a half day commission and I managed to capture 200 plus photographs.
